WHINECAST - 'Captain America - The Winter Soldier' review

It's finally time for the Captain to return! Captain Morgan, you ask hopefully? I'm afraid not, this is the more sober, more violent variety, that chap with Tiger Blood running through his veins and a curiosity for the 21st century percolating in his brain!

It's a rare WHINECAST review this time as we're dealing with one of the infrequent occasions where we have seriously different views of the film in question. One of us loves it, the other hates it. Yes, it's time for an audio punch-up, so let's see who comes out bleeding!

'Captain America: The Winter Soldier' review

  1. I'm sure you've seen Agents of SHIELD and now know that the episode takes place during the events of the movie.

As for why there was no interaction with Tony Stark, Hulk, etc, is simple: Communications were either tracked or blocked during most of the movie. We don't know where most of the Avengers are. But, we can assume the protagonists are running scared for much of the movie and are unable to contact allies (for some reason) when they have a chance to stop and think.

You were correct that Tony Stark was one of the targeted individuals at the climax. Dr Stephen Strange and several other notable heroes were also shown on the list.

I think additional viewings are likely to have plot holes. But, why they can't contact other agents or heroes won't be one of the problems. Between the meeting room and the helicopter rescue, for example, Black Widow apparently found time to change her outfit and lower her zipper enough to show cleavage.
