We're very happy to have the delightful @polly_sugar on board the mash-up, this time kicking off our greatly anticipated Tim Burton month! To begin our mammoth focus on the cinematic Batman franchise, she takes us on a personal look back at growing up with the various men to don the cowl and grace the silver screen as the Dark Knight.

Fact: I will happily (yes, happily) sit and watch Joel Schumacher’s Batman films. Back to back even. At the time of their release, Batman fans who were older than me (and maybe those of my generation who previously took an interest in the comics) were probably horrified by these gaudy incarnations of the caped crusader. A character so dignified and noble, wrapped up & sexed up in a tight rubber suit with nipples, and tossed merrily around a fluorescent toy box resembling Gotham City (or London’s Trocadero, could be either).
